Museums and COVID-19

Louvre employees vote to stop working

Though we now know that the pandemic may have arrived in France way before than previously thought, in March 1 there were already 100 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country (according to WHO situation reports), and the staff of one of the most visited museums in the world, the Louvre, was alarmed. On that day, about 300 staff members voted to close the museum, and its doors were shut for an entire day.
